Baby I'm Burnin' brings traditional American tattoo imagery to an embroidery project, with a floral sacred heart and a bold red and pink palette. It's a refreshing change from more conventional embroidery designs, and the finished piece is made to be displayed rather than tucked away in a drawer.
Follow the template, stitch by stitch
The peel-n-stick template is numbered, so you can work through the design in sequence. The design is created using appliqué, a technique where different fabric shapes are layered together to build up the finished picture. You'll learn back stitch and whip stitch, with full colour illustrated instructions and a link to video tutorials if you're a visual learner.
It's designed and assembled by Blue by You in the UK, and takes around four hours. A satisfying project for a relaxed afternoon.
